Why adults come here
You are not here for a certificate. You are here because something depends on it.
Most adult students arrive with a deadline attached — an application, an interview, a posting, a visa file.
That changes how the course should be built. Rather than a fixed syllabus, we start from the deadline and work backwards: what has to improve, by when, and how many hours a week that actually needs.
What people usually need
- TOEIC — required for hiring or promotion in many Asian companies
- IELTS — study or migration to the UK, Australia, New Zealand or Canada
- TOEFL — study in the United States or Canada
- Business English — email, meetings, presentations, calls with overseas clients
- General fluency — for people who read well but cannot speak
Why one-to-one matters more for adults
An adult usually has weeks, not years. In a group class of ten, a student speaks for a fraction of the hour. One-to-one, they speak for most of it — and speaking is the part that is missing.
It is also less exposed. Adults are often more self-conscious than teenagers about getting something wrong in front of others, and that alone can stall progress for months.
